Company and Commercial


Hulka Lo re-joined Wilkinson & Grist as a partner in the corporate practice in 2024. Her practice encompasses a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, corporate finance and general banking.

Prior to re-joining Wilkinson & Grist, Hulka practiced at another U.S. law firm. She has experience in advising corporate clients, private equity and investment funds on a wide range of cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular emphasis on the real estate sector. She also has experience in acting for leading banks and financial institutions on a variety of bilateral and syndicated, secured and unsecured lending transactions involving private companies, publicly-listed companies and real estate investment trusts (REITs).

Hulka is admitted to practice in Hong Kong. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Acquisitions and Investments

  • Advising Mapletree China Opportunity Fund II on its US$1.25 billion divestment of Mapletree Business City Shanghai and VivoCity Shanghai

  • Advising a global real estate development and investment company headquartered in Singapore on an over HK$8 billion disposal of a prime office building in Hong Kong Kowloon East

  • Advising a leading fund and asset management firm in Asia on the formation of a credit fund investing mainly on bonds and other debt securities

  • Advising Sino-Ocean Group on its US$95 million acquisition of Soho House, a boutique hotel and members’ club in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood

Banking and Finance

  • Advising a real estate fund on a RMB750 million term loan facility granted by a leading financial institution in Hong Kong to finance the acquisition of certain floors in a commercial building in Beijing

  • Advising Redsun Properties Group, a leading property developer in China, on its US$70 million term loan facility from a group of leading financial institutions

  • Advising the mandated lead arranger in a US$100 million term loan facility to a leading equity investment firm with a focus on entertainment, technology and consumer sectors

  • Advising the mandated lead arranger in a EUR300 million term loan facility to a private fund managed by a leading PRC investment firm

  • Advising a syndicate of leading banks in a US$384 million bank financing to a subsidiary of a Real Estate Investment Trust for acquisition of an integrated commercial complex in Shanghai

  • Advising lenders on various syndicated or bilateral secured bank loans to local developers for financing (i) land premium or acquisition costs; and (ii) construction costs for real estate development, renovation or redevelopment projects in Hong Kong
